    Renting a Foreclosure Property
I am thining of renting an apartment in a 2 family house in New York City that is rumored to be in foreclosure. How do I find out, and if so, what are my rights?

    Hello marty:

Upon foreclosure, a tenant has no rights.

Check with the county clerk to see if the house is in foreclosure. If they don't know they can tell you the lienholder who may supply that info.

A foreclosure voids a lease. So if the property does get foreclosed, then your tenancy ends unless the new owner wants to renew it.
