If a father signs his rights away, will he still have to pay child support?

Please do some research through the other threads you will learn a lot. Basically, the father, nor the mother, can sign away their rights it is only to clear the way for an adoption if the other parent had been married to a person for at least a year that wants to adopt. If after reading some other threads you still have questions please come back to this one and ask.

So even if he wnts to sign over the rights and I was to agree in the state of Indiana it isn't possible because I have to have someone else to adopt the child is this right?

So how do I go about getting that done because I have been divorced for a year now and he does have to pay child support but has no ties to our child its always me and never her I want it to stop and have no more ties wit him but still legally he is to know my information

Correct

Yes there would not be 1000's of dead beat dads in prison today if they could just easily sign over their rights.

In some cases of long time prison, or abuse they may lose their rights but even then many will still get supervised visits.

It is fairly easy, they just don't have to use their rights, they don't have to visit, they don't have to call and check on their child, they can just move on. So there is no reason they can't just not use them.

The support payment is a obligation and the state views it differently. If for example the custodial parent is on welfare, the state can go after the child support to help pay back part of the welfare received.

You can not have the father sign over his rights with out another man adopting the child. Period.
