    Bathroon fan/light stopped working?

My 4 yr. old bathroom shower fan/light combo stopped working. When I unplug the fan and light from within the combo itself...and hook them up to a seperate power line, an extension to a known good outlet for a test... the light and fan work. But when i plug them back into the unit, nothing works.

I tested the two switches at the wall and they are OK. Has the combo light/fan gone bad? What am I missing? The main switchbox has three switches. One for the main lights. One for the shower fan. One for the shower light.

    :confused:Thanks, Rick

If the switches are good, and the splices at the fan/light are good, perhaps because of the shower light there is a GFI device someplace that has tripped.

I am going to swap out the unit for a new one and see if solves my problem. All splices are good and tight... It is about 8 feet away from the wall switch to the fan/light over the shower. Some narrow attic space above... house has vaulted ceilings throughout. The only thing left is the actual wire... which to my knowledge has been undisturbed for 4 years.

Thanks for your help and reply.
