Can I dispute being sent to collections if I was not informed?
I was originally contacted by the company that held my classes requesting payment on a debt that I do not believe I owe. I requested information on the debt but I was never sent anything. This person never contacted me again and now I have a collection agency contacting me is there anything I can do at this point? I still have no idea what class this debt could possibly be for.

Ask them to send you proof of debt, inform them not to contact you again, until they have provided this. Do this in writing, two letters one regular and one certified.

Company does not have to tell you they are sending to a collection agency.
