I was recently caught at safeway for shoplifting. This is not my first offence and I have had other shoplifting habits in the past and am on probation for one of them now. It was a minor case and probation for a year was manditory. I have been in counseling for a year and I am wondering the penalties of violating this probation in another county. I am ashamed of myself and seriously need help. Do I get a lawyer to represent me for this. I have not yet gone to court but am waiting to.

I would get a lawyer, this would be a violation of probation I would assume, I'm sure someone here will be able to verify this but if you have the funds to get a lawyer, certainly do so.

Where did this happen? If you are on probation and have been arrested again, you've violated probation so, yes, I would get an Attorney.

You said you seriously need help but counselling didn't help you - what kind of help do you think you need?
