I need more speed on ceiling fan
I have a hunter ceiling fan. It usually is on about 8hr during the night since I live in the tropics. I don't use the reverse and I have separate switches for the fan and light. The fan is set on max speed always.
I need more breeze from the fan so I slightly bent each blade by about 2 degrees and I get more breeze but the speed has droped. I'm thinking about changing the capacitor to a larger one to increase speed.
the cap in the fan are 1.5 and 2.5 micro farad. There is a red that comes in to the cap and 2 other that leaves it.
Tell me, does these 2 cap values give low and medium . How does the high speed is attained ?- does the red go directly to the motor for high speed?
I will try experimenting today with different cap values . I need to have a faster speed on the highest setting regradless of the mid and low. I never use the mid or low .
will adding a higher cap. Burn the motor?
    Thanks

Short answer: yes it will. Make sure the fan is performing at the speed it is supposed to*, and if it is then you can't safely make it go any faster, so buy a better fan.

If you want more speed and air movement I recommend an industrial fan:

What model Hunter do you have?

*Make sure the bearings are not dirty, the capacitor value isn't drifted, and the blades are at the proper pitch and not out of balance.
