    Painful tampon insertion
My daughter who is about to turn 16 has tried for the past 2 years to use tampons. She has tried everything from using ky to using plastic applicators made for teens. Nothing seems to work it is very painful for her every time she tries she said it feels like her vaginal hole is to small. What I'm wondering is if this can be a medical issue? I as her mother would like her to see a gynocologist her father seems to see things differently. Should I go behind his back and bring her anyway or could this just be that her body isn't used to wearing tampons? I might want to add my youngest just started her period and has no problem using them.

Have you tried "lite" tampons? They were good for me starting, eventually after I got used to them I started wearing regular and even larger ones when needed.

I don't know about going behind your husband's back, but you do need to have a talk with him.

He probably feels that once she goes to the gyno that this is when her sex life starts. It's all going too fast for him. Is this your first born?

She should be able to see a doctor if that is what you and she want to do. Pads are not comfortable. They feel like a big loaf of bread between your legs. She has the right to choose if she wants pads or tampons. Explain that to your husband.

Have a long talk. Put him at ease about the situation of seeing a gyno.
