I have a bar of 6 lights comprising Halogen GU10 50 watt bulbs. One has blown and I can not remove it.
    Any ideas?

I attached a photo of a lamp with a GU10 base, and a photo of the matching socket.

Simply turning left a bit then pulling out should release the lamp. Right... I bet your saying.

Halogen lamps get very hot, and the heat my have seized the lamp in the socket.

With the power OFF, you can try a bit of WD40 spray, to see if that will loosen it. Power OFF as WD40 is flammable. I know, I learned the hard way, as usual.

The socket may be damaged also.

If the lamp still won't release, you may have to break out the glass to get access to the base and twist it out with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Be sure to wear safety goggles.
