Sounds like the lining of your throat dries out and is probably quite irritated. Brushing your teeth just gives you a taste other than blood.

Drink plenty of water (hydrate) and see an ENT (ears,nose,throat) Specialist.

You could use a product from BIOTENE before you go to sleep. Probably the moisturizer gel would be the ideal one to use. Just swab your mouth to help keep it moist. You might want to keep a couple extras on your bedside table to use through the night if you have to.
Drink plenty of water through the day to keep all tissues well hydrated.

Sometimes a bad nasal obstruction can cause mouth breathing... you may benefit from Flonase (nasal spray)... see your doc...
