I know this sounds really weird but there are plenty of girls that seem to only find their dream guy when they are gay. I believe that there is someone out there for everyone. Sometimes I wonder if my guy got turned gay... what happens then? Do I never find the right guy?:(
Awww.. I have sooo been where you are and it SUCKS! About being attracted to gay guys. I think part of it is because the stereotypical (not all) gay guy is clean cut, takes care of himself, and is an absolute sweetheart. But the big thing I thing is the whole 'want' for something you can't have. It's human nature to 'shoot for the moon' so to speak. You can't rush finding that special someone, but you can try and help push it along. What are some things you feel strongly about? Maybe you really like a certain band, you love football, or you have a great time shooting pool. Whatever the case may be, put yourself in that atmosphere. This way you know, at the very least, that you are surrounded by guys who have at least one similar interest. This is a great conversation starter. Just realize, like everyone else, you'll have to kiss a few frogs to find your prince. If that one special person were so easy to come by, they wouldn't be that special. My advice to you is to just go out and have a great time with your friends and meeting new people. The guy for you will most likely come when you least expect it. I hope that things work out for you hun. Leave your options open. The person you are looking for may be right under your nose. And don't forget sometimes it takes risks to earn reward. Sounds like you're looking for companionship and relationship, which effeminate males are more prone to provide. The typical "he man" male takes YEARS to develop real relationship skills, whereas a homosexual male is already (often) better at that stuff right out of the gate.
It really makes perfect sense.
Meanwhile, you should remember that words mean things... words like "dream guy" in this context is a way to just make yourself feel worse than you already do. Melodramatic terms should be avoided. No one can make you feel worse than you can do to yourself, so you have to train yourself to not do that.
Your dream guy isn't gay. Your dream guy is a guy who is compatible with you in ALL, not just some, ALL of the important ways... including liking girls. You, specifically, right?
Meanwhile, there's no need at ALL to diminish the role your gay friends have in your life. Cherish them, too, don't look down on them nor beat yourself up about their sexuality, it has nothing to do with you, so getting down about it makes no sense whatsoever.
The fact that you DO want a relationship-minded man is a good thing to know about yourself. It means when you find you are dating a gorgeous, outgoing man that is totally into himself more than you, it will be easier to let that "bad match" go and try again. This is also a good thing.
And your good friends will be there for you the whole time. Good... and more good.
