House training 16 week old cavalier king charles spaniel
I have had this puppy for almost a week and have been diligent with the house training. Holds in pee and poop for 6-7 hrs in crate at night but is still having pee accidents in house. Luckily I have caught and corrected her each time and cleaned up the pee appropriately. She clearly gets going out to make because she pees and poops right away when we go out and she is praised and given a treat. She had a stubborn urinary tract infection that she was given antibiotics for and I think she is getting better. (not making 4 small pees when we go out anymore, only 1 or 2 now).
Why is this little girl still having pee accidents??

Is she praised and given a treat while she's outside or after you've brought her in? What do you do if you catch her peeing inside?

She is lavishly praised and then given a treat when she does her business outside. When I catch her peeing inside I give a firm NO and take her outside and once she pees give her praise and a treat. What is the problem with her??

Lol. I don't know but it's frustrating isn't it? I've been going through the same thing but it's gotten a lot better. Our great dane puppy is just over 3 months old. Went about a week without having an accident in the house and then she had one on Saturday. Do you have the cleaner with the enzymes in it to clean up the accidents? If not I would pick some up. Sometimes when we can't smell it, the puppies still can and if they can still smell where they've had an accident they will go there again. Also you could try taking her out after she drinks a lot of water, eats, wakes up from a nap or gets done playing. Those are the times that they usually need to go potty right away.

It might just be that she's still getting over her infection?
