    Door chime / Bell - ! Button
    Hello,

I need to wire up a chime on our first floor and a door bell in our basement while using only 1 push button located at the front door.

MY Inlaws live downstaris and if we are not home (main Floor) we all need to hear the chime which is on the main floor and the door bell is in the basement.

The house is 20 years old and all wiring is in place. I have two wries from the front dor puch button, two wires for the dorr bell downstairs and two wires for the 16V transformer.
They are all located at the same location which is upstairs on the mainfloor where the chime is to be attaché to the wall.

We bought a new chime for the upstairs and relocated the door bell downstairs which replaced a buzzer we had down in the basement. We thought it is nice to listen to a
Ding/ Dong sound instaed ot a buzzer.

We are unable to get the ding /dong -doorbell to work downstairs now with the new chime upstairs.

Can someone provide me with a schematic diagram to help me wire this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Stratmando

The 2 wires from downstairs needs to connect to the same 2 wires at upstairs chime.

    KISS

    Let me try:

The chimes usually need to be wired in parallel. Suppose it's front/com/back(1) and front/com/back(2) which is typical for a wired front and back door bell. Applying power to front and com rings the front sound and applying it to the com and cack gives the back sound.

Front(1) must be connected to front (2)
Com(1) must be connected to com (2)

There is a device called Extend-a-chime which allows chimes to be wirelessly heard in different locations.
