    Pregnancy
There is this crazy girl girl who I had a one night oral relationship with. She doesn't remember the night and is claiming the child she is currently pregnant with is mine. I now live in a different state and do not want to travel the distance to take a paternity test I know is going to come back negative. Am I forced to take this test?

How long do I have to wait for a response on this page? Just curios to how things work on this website

It just depends on if people want to read your post and if they want or are able to answer your post. It doesn't take too long usually. I think I have had times where it doesn't get answered for a couple of days.

If she goes through a court and pushes it that far, you might be ordered to take one. But more than likely she will drop you out of the equation or she will just not bother with you!

What are you afraid of ? The truth! If you want her out of your hair and know you are not the dad, just take the test and be done with it.

Thanks for your help adam. And to the other person I thought this was the help desk. Somewhere I could get my questions answered without being badgered. So if you don't mind stopping with your negativity thatd be great

No problem for the help. That's what we are here for. Also, people judge people a lot here, and some aren't that nice. Most people are glad to help, but a lot of times people want to throw their opinion in there even if you didn't want it!

If she files, yes, the Court will order DNA testing but you can have it done by supervised personnel chosen by the Court in your area - you don't go back to wherever she is.

At least in NY if testing is ordered and you refuse you are in contempt and child support will be ordered.

It is good to know that I do not have to travel the distance to meet her. Thanks that is very helpful. I've never been through anything like this before. Do you have any idea how long it takes for the court to order the testing?

Everyone volunteers and not everyone can answer every question so it varies - this is also a question for forum help, not a family law question and will probably be combined with your other question(s).

Depends on how busy the Court is. It's more a matter of her filing papers, getting a Court date, having the Hearing. The Order is issued immediately and then the two jurisdictions juggle paperwork back and forth.

As a side note if you are the father - and I realize you say you cannot possibly be the father - support becomes due from the date she files, not the date paternity is established.

This is more of an opinion type of question. This girl slept with 3 to 4 others guys during the time that I supposively impregnated her. Even though I did not sleep even sleep with her I am the only one she hassels about this. I make a decent living but I am far from rich. Why do you think she is doing this to me?

I don't know what goes on in anybody else's head but all she basically is doing to you is requesting that you take a blood (DNA) test.

If you didn't have sex with her, if there's no possibility you're the father, don't worry about it. The blood test will end this at no cost to you and it'll be done.

Maybe she can't remember what happened, maybe she thinks you're the father, maybe she's trying to get under your skin.

Maybe she's applied for State assistance and the State has forced her to reveal the names of everyone she had sex with during a certain period.

Nobody knows but the other party.

Maybe it's a lesson about unprotected sex, "crazy girls" and having quasi-sex with girls who sleep around.

I'd like to point out at this time that dependent on what state the OP is from, this girl doesn't even have to file anything. If she's on state assistance and puts his name on the birth certificate, the state's going to come after him.

If she names you the father and you don't find out about it in a timely fashion, it's going to make it harder to fight the paternity establishment down the road. If I were you, I'd keep tabs on her and get the test done as soon as that baby is born.
