    Possible Blockage Main Stack Vent
The two toilets and the tub in the upstairs bathrooms are plugged and will not drain or flush. There is a gurgling sound when we flush or try to plunge the toilets. I have been told by a plumber that he thinks the main stack vent is blocked. How can I unstopped or clear the main stack vent? Are there any problems or things to be concerned about? Thank you.

Not knowing how the two bathroom fixtures are configured prevent me from answering. As a rule each bathroom group's vented by the lavatory vents. However, if the bathrooms are back to back and share a common vent then you would only need to snake out the common vent. Perhaps if I had more details I could be more specific. Regards, tom
