    Whirlpool Gold Washer won't drain!
My Whirlpool Gold (Catalyst) Washer model GSX9885JQO will suddenly not drain.
I was in the middle of washing several loads of wash. I went to empty the clothes and put the next load in and it had not drained. I ran various parts of the drain cycle over. It will add new water, but wherever it is draining... it is not out of the hose that is hooked over the drain pipe.
What could this be and what do I do? I have out of town company and lots of wash!

    Could be the belt
    Could be the water pump
Could be something went into the outer tub and got stuck in the pump.

    OK, HVAC-
Here's more info if it helps.
My model doesn't have a belt. Maybe it is the water pump. I took a coat hanger to make sure the drain pipe isn't blocked, but I couldn't check very far into the washer itself. Tried to take the agitator apart to check under it, but couldn't get it. Info on how to do it wasn't in the manual.
Is there a way to get to the pump to check it for a sock or something?
Thanks for any of your thoughts. I can't afford a repairman before Christmas1

You have what is called the direct drive configuration. On most units they are serviced from the back side of the washer. See if you can tell if the pump is spinning with the service access removed.
