Scalp Problems Due to Hair Coloring
Please help me. I had my hair colored about 7 months ago and since that day I have experienced major problems with my scalp. That day I went to someone new to have my hair colored and she put color all over my hair and she put a plastic cap and put me under the dryer... nobody has ever done that before... my scalp started to burn.

I left with a red burned scalp and I had major itching. I still have itching and when the itching is bad... I lose hair... I have lost so much hair and now I have a little bald spot. On top of my head. Somteimes my scalp also gets bumps.

Please note that before this hair coloring experience, I never had any scalp probelems or hair loss.

    Please help me!!

    Thanks,
    Jackie

She put the cap on your head to speed up the coloring process and misjudged how much time it needed. You should have gone back to them as soon as you noticed this. What did you say to her about the burning ?

    This is not right jackie.

I just got a bad allergic reaction to a black hair dye. It started with the same lump and almost a week later I had to go to the dermatologist for a cortizone shot.

The Doctor said it can take up to 7 days for your body to react to a new allergy.

Do you have an itchy scalp? Is your scalp wet like an open wound? Do you have lumps under your skin on the back of your had and neck?

If so go buy a Peppermint Oil based leave in conditioner and leave it on your hair after you shower. It will help you make it through the night without itching. You can leave it in during the day to if you wear a head wrap or bandana.

And call a dermatologist to get a shot. My reaction took over a week in a half to develop so catch it before it gets worse.

Well well well... my teachers were right after all. Honey you've had an allergic reaction. If she did not perform a patch test 24 hours PRIOR to putting the color on your head that is malpractice in most states. You have EVERY right to sue. I'd call an attorney if I were you.
