Furnace problems - no flame but all else seems fine
My upstairs furnace (located in the attic) has no flame. It buzzes when the thermostat demands heat then about 30 seconds later the fan comes on, but no flame. I managed to light the pilot light manually but it did not change the behavior in the slightest.

I suspect the gas valve is bad since it seemingly has a solenoid in it (I'm guessing that's the buzzing sound). It is a Honeywell Model VR800A1228 which is replaced (according to their website) with a model VR8200A2132.

I can get the part on eBay for $55 or so.

But even if I'm right, I don't readily see how to change out the valve.

Anyone know if I'm likely right? And if so, how do I change out the valve?

Thanks a ton of any help!

    Brand name?
    Exact model number?

Just figured it out. It was nothing more than the pilot light! I thought I had lit it but I hadn't turned the switch back to the "on" position.

    Thanks!
    Obviously a rookie
