    Credit card theft under $1000
What are the consequences of credit card theft, if the person is 23 years old, has no previous record and has charged under $1000 to a stolen credit card?

Unfortunately this type of theft is not treated lightly as it is classed as identify fraud, etc. Fraud, by any other name does not include just a fine, but incarceration even for first time offenders.

What if its by using your own credit card, but you report it as being stolen?

Then, you will be found out and it is still fraud. Why would you do that ?

Yes I know that the person will be caught & that its considered fraud. What I'm wondering is what typer of punishment the person will receive in Canada!

From a Canadian, don't know exactly what type of punishment you will receive, that will be up to the judge to determine, martyshka.
