Antique Engraved Print: How can you tell if it's origina?
I recently came across what I think is an engraved print from Jean Baptiste de Poilly a French Artist from the 1700's.

The print looks very old and is in color (granted a bit faded). The Picture is a large floral arrangement. How do I tell if it's a reproduction or the real thing? It looks like the reproductions sell for $300 and the real things for $3,000.

    Hi, uvware!

I'm sorry that no one has yet come along to address your question!

On the following site are some things to look for in making a determination as to whether a print is an original or not.

Village Antiques: How to Tell if Your Print is Antique - Step One - Is it Offset?

There's enough information there that copying and pasting it on this site wouldn't be justified.

    Thanks!
