    Sewage smell in house
I am getting a sewage smell throughout my home. I have a septic system, and recently from the clean out have replaced the piping, new 1000 gal holding tank and drainage, however there is no leach field. I just have a drain pipe emptying the tank. I also have vents on the side of the house but they are not higher then the house. I also have looked under the crawl space for sewage and I canot see any, where I can see. The smell is around some when flushing the toilets, but the smell is really strong when taking a shower and especially a bath. I have spent a lot of money and looking for something I could do before calling the plumber. I have checked to make sure the drains have pea traps and they do. Under the one bathroom I had to pour some cement around the old drain to prevent it from leaking out. Any suggestions will help!

Has this always been a problem, or is it a fairly new occurrence? Do all fixtures drain well(no backing up or gurgling). Do you have a floor drain that doesn't get used much?

Possible problems... wax ring under toilet is fualtly, plugged vent or improper venting, damaged sewer or vent pipe. Sewer blockage, etc etc.

The cement leak fix would be a good place to start. What type of pipe do you have(cast iron, copper, pvc, abs.
