How may wires are connected at furnace. What colors go to what terminals(at furnace). Give us some more info and we will try to help.
6 wires connected R,Y,B,O,G,W
THE HONEYWELL HAS Rh,Rc, W, Y, G
Do you have a heat pump system? Or two stage forced air system? Doenst look like your knew thermostat is compatible with your system. Please let me know what type of system you have.
Neither of those. I have a honeywell maual LR69071 and am trying to replace it with a Honeywell programmable RTH230B.
Okay, Im not asking about the thermostats. Im asking what type of system the thermostat is controlling. The thermostat has to be compatible with the actuall heating/cooling system. If you aren't quite sure what type of system you have, I would recommend calling for onsite help. Good luck and please let me know how it all works out.
6 wires is usually a heat pump thermostat.
The honeywell you have only has 5 places for wires you say so the thermostat you are trying to use will not work.
BTW I have the Honeywell master catalogue that goes back 50 years and the number you posted for the old one is not in it. Sorry
