I have a 4.5 inch lead pipe with a .5 inch flange on it coming up through the bathroom floor that the toilet sets on. I have bent the flange up carefully and installed new .25 inch plywood and .25 inch fiberboard around the pipe. I am now ready to install the brass ring before I install ceramic tile. In what order do I proceed? Does the lead flange go ontop of the brass collar and do I drill holes in it? What is the best adhesive to use on the lead pipe and the new brass collar?

You're using the same flange,correct? Does the lead bend have enough stock to flair it out on top of the finished floor? IUf it has XERY Carefully work the lead out on the tile floor to a flare. The flange has bolt holes, (see image) and these you will mark and drill in 1/4" holes. Now, using 1/4" plastric inserts screw the brass flange down over the tile floor. You may now instal the toilet in the usual way. If you haven't got lead enough to make a flare or if you ruin the pipe attempting to flare it out click on back and we'll go to "plan "B". Good luck Tom
