    Court house marriage!
Me and my boyfriend have been together for a littile while now and he asked me to marry him. Not long after I found out we are going to have a baby.. now he leaves for the army in 2 months and we want to get married before he leaves.. so we decided to go to the court house. BUTTT I want a big wedding with family and friends. So he said we will do it later this year.. am I wrong for thinking this is the wrong way to get married? Courthouse then the "big bang" later.. advice need asap please

Get married now. That way if anything does happen you and your baby will be protected by having his name and benefits. (I really hope nothing does happen, but as an expectant mother you've got to be practical).

You can have a simple courthouse exchange of vows now. Then when your husband returns you can do a big wedding with all the fuss and glamour, celebrating his return, the new baby, renewing your vows and the start of a new life together.

Give your boyfriend the peace of mind knowing that you and your baby will be protected while he's gone.

    Congratulations!

BTW I've known several people who had a courthouse marriage and then really splurged on the reception or the honeymoon. My own brother and SIL had a courthouse marriage so they could be married on 8/8/88, but the big wedding was a few months later.

This sounds a lot like me and my fiancé, but I'm not pregnant.. well.. I'm not sure if I am or not but, he also leaves in 2 months and he wants to get married before he leaves and then have a big bang.. the way I see it, is he just wants to make sure that no matter what you and taken care of. Specially since a baby is involved too... and he probably really loves you and just don't want to wait.. I thinks its kind of cute in a way you know.

Congrats... many people do a court house or informal wedding and celebrate at a later time with family and friends with something bigger. It can be due to logistics... I've known several international marriages that went this direction, military issues, finances, and simply an impulsive decision. Good luck!
