    Sewage ejector pump
My basement sewage pump just stopped working? I checked the ele.breaker it is fine.
The pump was just installed about 3 mo. Ago, and was new? What could be the problem? Thanks

Float could be stuck. Do you have two electrical cords coming out of pit? If so, unplug the one that comes into the back of the one that plugs into the outlet. Now, plug the back one directly into the outlet and see if the pump doesn't run.(hope this makes sense)

    The most common problems are:

    1. Float is stuck meaning it is entangled in debris or its own cord
    2. You have some object ( twig, paper towel, Kleenex, tampon etc ) stuck in the blade of the pump.

Remove the pump from the pit. Take it outside, flip it over. Take hose and clean it. At this time, you should be able to see the obstruction.

It is good practice to set pump on concrete block. This way debris will fall down to the bottom of the pit. Otherwise, suction force of the pump will attempt to sweep it into its intake resulting in blockage.
