    Cousin going suicidal
My cousin, lets call him Dave, wants to commit suicide. He talks about it and I have found his questions about suicide on different forums, as he gave me his old computer and forgot to erase his browser history... what should I do with him? How do I support him?

Dave seems really depressed and he gets annoyed easily. Yesterday he threw a glass of orange juice at me, when I asked him to pass it to me. Dave cannot be suffering from dementia, as his 1Qis over 160 and he always gets good grades at school... He is just suffering, because he doesn't have a girlfriend or something. Im just 13 - don't know much about it - but I have never seen him with a girl. He is always walking alone when I meet him at the mall. He also goes for long drives, to Alabama and back.

I am very concerned because he has been like a brother for me. Will anyone help me? Thank you all.

I am personally uncomfortable with you using your cousin's AMHD screen name, he using yours. I don't know if you are one person or two.

You are also aware, I am sure, that this is one of the forums where he posts about his mental health concerns.

Maybe a moderator should look at this situation - whatever it is.

I can almost relate. I, too, score high 150s-low 160s on IQ tests, if you think that's an object here. Also, I am trapped in an uncomfortable situation at home that has robbed me almost entirely of my social life. And through this situation, I have developed depression, clinically, anyway. It sounds like your cousin "Dave" may have similar issues, for possibly different causes. If he seems fine followed by incredible lows, followed by strange bouts of happiness or something similar to that, try looking up manic depression. If you don't feel comfortable approaching "Dave" about your worries, inform his parents, and hope for the best. I can assure you that, with an isolated life, being alone feels best for him. This may create a barrier between him and those around him, so reaching out to him may be difficult.

No one has helped me better than my shrink, though. Sure we have our ups and downs, but therapy has provided an avenue for me. I suggest that your cousin looks for a similar solution.

    Oh, yes!

What is even more weird is that YOU'RE and/or your counsin posted that the person posting in two names was not you, it was your cousin using your account AND you using your account yourself.

I may be good at spotting fraud but I'm not a psychic so I heard it from you.

So your surprise now is rather... amusing.
