Odd things happening/fishy smells
I have been having some odd experiences lately and would like some possible answers. First, about my house.
My house is only 16 years old, with only 2 previous owners. They were 2 families, and no one ever died in the house or in any of the houses in my neighborhood. About 2 years ago, strange things started to happen around the house. All but one of the bedrooms are on the main floor and are all in one hallway, one right next to the other, and across from the bedrooms is a bathroom. We all sleep with the doors closed. That night about 2 years ago, each doorknob on all the bedroom doors started to rattle, like someone was trying to get in, but couldn't get the door open, even though it wasn't locked. I don't know if it happened at one time, or simultaneous. This happened every once in a while for about 6 months, and then never happened again. We would get the occasional "eerie feeling" or catch something at the corner of our eyes, but it wasn't serious. We would joke about the "ghost" as if it didn't exist, which we were convinced didn't exist.
2 weeks ago, the power in our basement, "rec room" would just go out, out of nowhere. Oddly, it was just the power that was connected to the outlets on just one wall. We had an electrician come and see what was the cause, and he couldn't find anything wrong. At first it would happen only once or twice a day and the power would be off for like 10 minutes. Now, it happens almost every hour and the power could stay off for 10 minutes, or 10 hours. At least it's only on the one wall, which has 2 lamps and our computer plugged into it. (I'm on the laptop now).
This morning, as I was cleaning downstairs in the laundry room and my daughter's room, I could smell a faint smell, like fishticks. My daughter came in right after and asked why I was making fishsticks at 9 am! I told her I wasn't, and as I stepped from the laundry room, into the bathroom, and out to the rec room, the smell of fish was so bad it made me nautious. When my A neighbor came over and I told her to go downstairs and tell me what she smelled, and she said "fish." The kids don't want to go downstairs, and it's gradually making it's way upstairs. It's only happened today, but I looked up signs that you may have a ghost on the internet, and smells, like fish are one sign. I really don't want to have a ghost, I'm terrified! I am not moving out of my house, but I really need to know what others think. Do I have a ghost, and if I do, how do I get rid of it because the thought just absolutely terrifies me! Please Help!
