    Do I keep my 2 years taxes if I change from J1 to H1B - UK citizen
    I am working as a teacher in NYC on a J1. Under the tax treaty with the UK - I have 2 years tax free on the J1. After that I have to leave the country or pay back the 2 years worth of tax. If I change to an H1B can I avoid paying the tax back? Do I need to leave the USA and come back? How long for? Thank you for your help!:confused:
