My son will be 19 in January. He used to be a thoughtful, caring person now he don't care about anything anymore. He is very disrespectful to all family members and even his twin sister. He changed over night. Has a so called girl friend he spends most time with. Tries to avoid us as much as possible. Finally, we had enough. My husband told him to get out of our house. We have always supported him in everything. My mother thinks we spoiled him too much. I think he has big issues, but won't open up to anyone. I also feel his friends have a big part of the influence in his life. If anyone tries to talk to him and they don't say it just right he blows. Its like living with a time bomb just wanting to go off at anytime. Out of answers.

We all go through times in our live where we have no idea how to handle the stresses and emotions that are going on.

Your son is a young adult, suddenly he may be realizing that he has more responsibility, that he's not a child anymore. Maybe he's stressed out about his future.

Family counselling and individual counselling might help. Don't give up on him, if he used to be thoughtful and caring then this is probably just a stage he's going through, hopefully he'll come around.

    Good luck.

And sadly one can not rule out possible drug usage, this can change a person "overnight" also.
