My mom used to tell me lemon juice. Never tried it because I use a garlic press from the pampered chef which involves little touching of the garlic. All you do is peel the skin and squeeze. It through the press for minced garlic. But try lemon juice, or dial soap.
Ah, easy solution really. With garlic and/or onions just wash your hands and rub them over the stainless steel of your kitchen sink faucet. Don't know how it works, it just does.
A bakingsoda and milk paste will remove the stench. And I agree lemon and stainless still will also, but you can use the paste for cutting boards.
