I have dry ear lobes from gauging them!
So I started gauging my ears like 2 months ago. I'm currently at an 8 and I'm using glass plugs. Ever since I put these in my ear lobes have been itchy and started getting dry and crusty in the back, not the front.
So for the past few days I've been putting Vitamin E oil on my ear lobes and went back down to my 10gauge and put in my acrylic plugs. I've been soaking those plugs in salt water during my showers and putting them back in afterwards.
What else can I do to make them stop itching and dry and crusty? Am I on a good track? Do you think Vaseline will be better? I haven't tried that yet. Should I just take my plugs out forever and just let my ears heal and then start over again later?
Thanks for any help in advance :)

    Vaseline would be much better.

OK sweet. Someone also told me to use BACTINE to clean out my ear lobes too? Has anyone ever used that?
And what kind of daily cleaning procedure should I do?

    BUMP.

Currently, my left ear lobe is pretty swollen. My right eear lobe is fine, just dry. But the left is dry and swollen. What can make the swelling go down? Please help!

It may be infected, ice would make the swelling go down, and yes if there is infection Bactine would be better than vaseline.
