    Hi All

    I wonder if someone could help. My mother has a portuguese Passport thus is a portuguese citazen . How ever I was not born in Portugal . Is it possiable for me to obtain a Portuguese passport as well?

    I have been told that it is my right by a number of mates as they also have portuguese passports . How ever there mother or father put them on there passport when they where younger ? I am 26 years old and want to go visit my gran and family who all live in Portugal .

    Please could someone help .

    Yes, because your mother is a Portuguese citizen, you can obtain Portuguese citizenship (and therefore a Portuguese passport). The requirements will be a little different than that of your mates because you are now over 18 but you can still obtain one.

    However, since I don't know what country you live in, your best bet AFTER making sure your country of citizenship ALLOWS dual citizenship, is to contact your nearest local Portuguese consulate to find out what the current requirements are.
