My wife has defaulted on her student loans. We live in southcarolina they have been calling us a lot telling her they are going to garnish her wages if we don't pay 331.00 by the end of the month what can we do? Can they garnish her wages?

If these are government subsidized loans then they may be able to do so. She needs to read her loan papers.

Ask them if they have a loan rehabilitation program. I defaulted on my student loans. I eventually got into a loan rehab program which removed the default, the black marks on my credit and got me rolling to paying them off.
