Stop watching things that you know will haunt you. I think you could use some counseling .

When we watch a documentaryor a movie they use schock
Meditate so they can make a point and hard for you to forget. Some people are more
Sensitive than others. I was one of those. When we have this schock or any schock
Our subconscious mind keeps bringing it up. It becomes very hard to let go of it. We
Star to concentrate on it and it grows to a point we think we can not stop it, but we can.
Most people have this happen to them and just don't want to say it.This is what I have learned to help me.Substitute new constructive ideas to replace the bad. Think about
And concentrate on what you want, Not on what you do not want. We need only to
Correct our thoughts to stop our bad thoughts. This mind change is not that easy.
The best way to go about this is repeating affirmations to replace the bad thoughts.
When you retire at night say and repeat and believe what you are saying "I AM
HEALTHY, STRONG, YOUNG, POWERFUL, LOVING, HARMONIOUS, SUCCSSFUL AND
HAPPY". When you repeat this affirmation, you are impressing your subonscious
Mind with those qualities. You can say what you want, just make sure it is good
Positive words. We are creatures of habit in mind and body so when we start to
Change habits of thought everything goes against us. But if we want
To change we put our mind to work and believe it. I read the bible and believe in it
And there are a lot of positive verse that I say a lot. Author Dr Norman Vincenct Peale
Wrote a book "THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING" it is a very good book and has
Help so many people and it was a best seller. This was some time ago but get if you
Can I know it would help you.

Maggie 3 made very valid points.

Death is just something that is very interesting and hard to forget.

It's sad, but when you see an accident on the freeway, everyone is drawn to want to look. It's just something that some of us can't help.

You should soon get over that documentary you watched. Can you maybe associate something better with the day of the 27th?

So it can be the anniversary of something better than of the deaths of loved ones?

Try not to fear death, because its bound to happin, no matter what you do, just think about bettering yourself before that day comes, try making an influence on the world, do some good

I just wrote a really long answer in this category for someone else who expressed a similar fear of death. You can check that out. You might find her question more helpful than my answer. ;) If nothing else, it's nice to know you aren't alone. Confronting the reality of death, and finding the meaning of life that we know is mortal, is an important part of our humanity, something we all share.

    Blessings.

I used to be obsessed with death too. I couldn't figure out why, but I always had this dread... I know this is going to sound crazy to a lot of people, but give it some honest thought! The reason death is such a difficult thing to deal with is because, even though we like to think of death as a natural-a part of life-it wasn't always. We weren't created to die in the garden of eden. We were created to live without pain and sorrow-period. We were also created to live with a gift called free-will, which we all still have. Think about the person you love the most. Would you want that person to love you back and show you that love because they CHOOSE to? They WANT to? Or because they were `programed ' to like a computer. We want the real deal, And so does God. That's why he gave us the choice to choose to love him or not. And, like us, it breaks His heart when we don't- but He goes on loving us anyway. I didn't realize this until I was 35- and I lived a lot of years wondering and looking for answers. I don't mean to be pushy-just want you to have the peace I now have. Something to think about-I hope.
