I know of a few people on this site who have gotten pregnant while on birth control (specifically J_9 and macksmom - hopefully you don't mind me stating this :p). I was curious as to how any of you felt when finding you were pregnant while you were taking birth control, for those two and anyone else who has expierenced this. May I ask how old you were when this happened? Did you feel you were financially stable enough to do this? Was it hard telling your significant other/family? What emotions were running through your head when you found out? If you were in college, were you able to finish, and did having a child while doing so make it much more difficult?

I am currently on birth control, and as you can probably tell from my previous posts I am dying for a child. I know waiting is what I need to do to be able to give my child the best life possible, but I will admit I secretly wish that I will fall pregnant while taking birth control. I would not for the life of me stop taking my birth control, or take it at different times on purpose, for the fact that my boyfriend is not ready yet and that is not fair for him. But if I do fall pregnant while taking it I could only imagine how I would feel. This is why I am curious to your answers. Thank you. :)

I was on the patch when I got pregnant. I am only 20 years old I'm a single marine and the father left to Florida. I thought for sure because I was on BC that I would not get pregnant but no BC is 100% effective. I am happy that I will have a son soon but I wish I could have waited until I was ready financially stable enough. You might want a child but I would recommend doing so only when you are ready, because you want to be able to give the child the best life they could possibly have. If you get pregnant before you are ready you will have a very difficult time. I am already stressed out and overwhelmed and I have not even had my son yet. Just make sure it is what you truly want and are ready for before it happens.

I was on because when I got pregnant. I was also 17.I am now a mommy to a beautiful 3 yr old little girl. I was scared and excited at the same time. My boyfriend and I both had great jobs , we already lived together and were financially stable. We had been together for a little over a yr and now its almost 5 yrs. But it was still very hard to be that young and have a baby. I was so scared to tell my parents but to my surprise they were a lot more supportive then I thought. My dad was actually excited after it all sunk in ( We told him on his b-day, not the greatest gift)I was 6 months pregnant before I found out I was pregnant, because the because made me have weird periods so I didn't think about it. I took a pregnancy test at 1:30 in the morning and it showed up positive within 30 secs. I cried for about 4 hrs straight that morning after I saw the results. I didn't know what I was going to do . My daughter is the greatest gift I was ever given but that doesn't mean it was easy. We went through some very hard times. The sleepless nights with a sick or teething baby. Its hard. I would suggest waiting until you are REALLY ready. I understand wanting a baby , because they are precious. But you want to make you sure you can give that baby everything it needs and all the attention it needs. Which I can imagine would be hard while in college. Finish school, get a great job and your own place to live ( if shouldn't have to depend on someone else) and have money saved up. Make sure your in a stable relationship. And def. make sure your boyfriend is ready as well. You last thing you want is to get pregnant and him not be ready and leave you and the baby.Just wait until you are truly ready , you will know! Then when its time I am sure you will make a great mom. Until then have fun get all the parting out you want and hang out with your friends. When you have a baby you don't get to just go out with friends whenever you want , you have to think about the baby. And trust me you won't always have a babysitter. But just enjoy life and make sure your ready. I wish you the best.

What's the point of taking it if you are not taking it properly? Have you expressed your desire to be a mother to your boyfriend? MOST people aren't ever completely ready for a child to arrive.
