    Email Issues
Can a non-custodial parent set up an email account for his 13 yr old daughter, and not give the custodial parent access to the email account? It seems to be the only way the non-custodial parent can have contact with his daughter without the mother interferring. The 13 yr old already has an email acct the mother wants her to use, but will delete any messages sent by the father (and new step-mother) before the child has a chance to read them.

If it's an email address tied to your internet provider's account then the owner of the internet service account is the only one that can set up an email account and they also set the password. The other option is a webmail account (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) that absolutely anyone can set up.

This is more of a legal question than an "email" question. As previously stated - email accounts on hotmail, Yahoo etc can be setup easily.

Anyone can set up a YAHOO (http://mail.yahoo.com) or HOTMAIL (http://www.hotmail.com) account.

Set one of these up, let the child use that account.

I agree with Jon, setting up the account is not the issue. There are loads of ways to get an e-mail account. A web based one would be best since it can be accessed anywhere, not just from home.

But there is a legal issue that you need to make sure of. Were you barred from contacting the child in the divorce agreement? Do you have any visitation rights?

If you do have visitation and/or were not barred from corresponding with the child, then I would petition to court to prevent the mom from blocking access to your daughter.
