My truck is overheating and we've replaced the entire cooling system
Well, my husband and I are overheating in frustration now with his truck. We've replaced the entire cooling system on his 1999 dodge sport truck, with all brand new parts, and his truck is overheating again? Can someone help us figure out why this is happening, before we go waste money taking it to a dealership? Thank you!

Did you replace the actual radiator and not just all the parts of the system?

Are you losing antifreeze also, or is it just overheating? When you say it has "all brand new parts" are you saying that you replaced the water pump, thermostat, radiator and heater core?

Water in Texas is full of calcium and other minerals that will buildup and restrict radiators and heating cores. Only use a 50/50 mixture of traditional green antifreeze and distilled water. The radiator may need to be replaced.

Finally, ensure the supplemental transmission cooler is working properly. Otherwise, the additional heat from the automatic transmission can contribute to engine overheating.

Did you see any yellowish sulpher color inside anyof the openings in motor or parts ?I suspect you have bad head gaskets they only last 5 years plus
Does it fill the hose with preesure fast that's a sign does it ave bubbles coming into the
Water filler jug al the time that's a sign does the car heat to fast for normal overheating causes ? That's a sign is the head gasket over 5 years old pull the head it proubably bad
Have the head checked at the macine shop fer cracks and warping... if good then
Get a head gasket set and reinstall walah also he better the exhause valves the cooler the motor cooling system requirements chck the valves see if thar burned ask the shop
Aside from yer proublem sometimes an old water pump the pump vains will rot off requiring water pump replacement.. someone hasn't placed your fan on backwards some cars his has happened but this isn't a concern on most cars so not likely
