    Odds of Pregnancy
Ok, so I've been on birth control for about 8 months and been taking it like I should; on time same time everyday, and I recently had sex with my fiancé. I was wondering what my odds of getting pregnant were 12-14 after my last period, even though I'm on birth control?

IF you took your birth control correctly ( every day, about the same time, and did not forget a pill on one day ), then it's close to 0.
If I well remember it's like 0,1%. Not sure though.
It's not 100% safe, but very very close to it.

Thank you very much. I figured I didn't have much to worry about but I wanted to make sure.

The numbers are about 5 in 100 women get pregnant (or 1 in 20) with typical use. With "perfect" use, the number is closer to 1 in 100, as catseyes said.

While 1 in 100 may not sound like a high risk, do not think that you cannot get pregnant. I WISH the odds of winning the lottery were anywhere near those odds!

Not trying to scare you from having sex. I'm just trying to make you understand 1 in 100 and "didn't have much to worry about" are, in my mind, perhaps conflicting statements if a pregnancy would be unwanted. If you have sex with birth control, you still might get pregnant.

My little one is proof that birth control is not 100% effective, and SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE is that 1 in 100.
