How can I hook up my vcr and satellite receiver to record a show

The process can very by models but generally you need to loop or pass the signal through the VCR. Using RCA cables is the easiest way. Connect your RCA's from your receiver to the inputs on the VCR and then connect the VCR to you TV via coax or RCA. You will need to tune your VCR to it's proper channel and the TV to the VCR channel.
