Light switch with 14/3 and 14/2
    Hi all,
My kitchen light switch stopped working and I can't fix it. It is a single pole switch. It has a 14/2 and 14/3 wire in the box. The whites are tied together, the blacks are tied together with a pigtail, and there is one red wire. The black and red were hooked up to the switch. I tired a new switch and got nothing. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Robert

Sounds to me like it is wired correctly. By this I mean that would be a pretty typical wiring scheme.

Did you check for power? If so, how and where?

Yes I checked for power. I only have power from the 14/2. I checked it by putting the leads on the black & white. One other thing I should mention is... when I separated all of the wires, my light above the stove wouldn't work, so obviously that light is tied into somehow.
