I am trying to find out the name of a movie details are as follows.
Possibly filmed in the 90's about a controlling psychotic partner who holds partner hostage in there apartment building. The movie begins where his ex partner has killed herself in the tub. He soundproofs the walls etc with mattresses and stuff and in general just wants to control her. I think she is some sort of lab technician as she results in poisoning in order to escape it was played on TV about 8 yrs ago.
