I have tried a number of ways to fit the remote fan receiver into the canopy but have been unsuccessful. Any ideas? I looked at the diagram and it shows the receiver oriented with flat side up. Despite my efforts, I just can't seem to make it fit.

This isn't the first time I've heard of this problem, although I've never seen it firsthand. All I can say is, the receiver is designed to fit in the canopy and so it should fit. Is the fan's mounting bracket flush with the ceiling, or is it raised up into the drywall slightly?
Figured it out. The remote receiver fits between the ceiling and the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is "U" shaped and the receiver fits in the "U".
I had to rewire it to get it to fit, but it worked.
Hope that this helps someone in the future.;)
I'm guessing you mean the other way around-- the receiver is "U" shaped and the bracket fits in the "U".Quote:

No, actually the receiver is a rectangular and the mounting bracket that attaches to the ceiling is "U" shaped. At the top of the "U" on either side is where the bracket attached to the electrical box. The receiver fits right in the space of the "U". Hope that is helpful.:)
It does, thanks. I don't believe I have ever seen it that way. I *have* seen where the receiver mounts between the bracket and the ceiling, and is U-shaped, but a U-shaped mounting bracket is less common.
Hello,
I just about the Mediterranean fan and I am having trouble fitting the receiver into the canopy. I am a little confused by the "U" shaped discussion. Does the receiver go on top of the mounting bracket and not into the canopy at all? I tired this, but there is no room between the ceiling and the bracket.
Thanks for the help.
I've never seen on in person myself, the best thing I could have done is direct you to this thread and say "it can be done!"
This is not intuitive. The wireless transmitter slides flat side against the ceiling into the mounting bracket above the ball. Place the fan rod ball into the bracket then slide the transmitter into the space above. Thanks for everyone's help.
