Yesterday I gave her a dog treat ( hard to chew) and it was kind of long... now its gone and she's shaking and can't jump up on me because I think she swallowed it. Can she die from adult tylenol?? I'm 13 and my mom said to give her the tylenal in case she's in pain... my mom can't convince my step dad to take her to the vet... so that's why she gave her the pill and we don't have a car... so wed have to find a ride.:( :(

If the dog is still shaking from yesterday there is a good possibility that the dog chew has lodged in the intestine somewhere and she's extremely upset about being in pain. I would suggest that you find a ride and get to the vets as soon as possible or your little dog could be a goner if she keeps up the shaking. Is she eating any food or drinking water like normal? If she is then the chew toy just may be working it's way down her insides. If she is not eating or drinking that is a bad sign and she needs to be looked at at once.

Tylenol can cause liver toxicity in dogs if given often.

Please at least call your vet. Maybe there is some advice the vet can give you until you get a ride to the vet. Never give a dog people medicine, unless it is approved by a vet. Some human medicines can be deadly to a dog! You said "a pill"... so I hope you meant just one. But we don't know the size of your dog. That makes a difference! I don't mean to scare you, but you need to get your dog to a vet if she is shaking.

It's likely that if only one tylenol was given then your dog will be okay. It depends on the size of the dog and it's age. Do not give her any more tylenol though, it isn't safe to use on dogs, heck, it really isn't good for us either.

I'm sure she'll be okay, just keep an eye on her. :)

If your dog is still distressed now, tell your step dad you'll report him to humane society if he doesn't take your dog to the vet.

You know what I'd do in this instance if it was my dog, pick the dog up(yes my 65 pound husky) and walk to the vet(even though it's a 35 minutes drive). If you love this animal you'll find a way to get it to the vet!

We have to remember that the OP is only 13, she doesn't have the means to pay for a vet bill. Sadly, it's up to her parents, and it seems as if they aren't willing.

Asking, I think your way is best, tell the parents to take the dog to the vet, or the SPCA will be contacted.
