Baseboard heat banging - pipes bled already
    Hello,

I've been reading through many of the questions regarding baseboard heating noise. I have a water expansion tank with a 2-week-old air valve and have had the pipes bled twice in the last 2 weeks by 2 different technicians to no avail. The technician last week manually filled our tank with water and the noise went away for about 24 hours. His diagnosis was that we need a water regulator and our furnace is shooting steam into the pipes rather than hot water and that our water in the furnace is evaporating at an exponential rate due to our not having a regulator. He offered to come back to show us how to manually fill the tank, but never did. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice before I spend $500 or more on a water regulator?

    Thanks,
    Deiken

If this is a hot water boiler a auto fill valve is almost a must especially in order to properly bleed the system without having to go back to the boiler every minute to add water as you bleed.

Auto fill valves usually cost no more than 200.00 installed.

    Valve here as example

Hello and thank you so much for your advice. It's good to have a pricing base. Ufnortuantely, things are very expensive where I live but I will try to get the price as close to that number as possilbe.
