Setting up a computer in Canada
Next year we will be spending the Summer in Big Creek, British Columbia which is 70 miles from Williams Lake, the nearest town

We want to maintain contact with family in the UK using a Laptop.

I believe that Broadband is not available in the area and other people living there have, I believe, a Satellite connection.

I am not aware how this works and would be grateful for any advice anyone could give.

    Thank you. Cyril Jones.

Hi, use the website below, it helps people locate internet service providers anywhere in Canada... I don't see any for Big Creek but 5 that service Williams Lake, try contacting them and see if any of these 5 would service Big Creek

Canadian ISP - Select a province to search

If not I assume a satellite connection would work like a modem... you just plug in an ethernet cable from the modem to your laptop.
