You said you have a Janitrol thermostat you are going to REPLACE with a HUNTER
I said
The hunter does not have a C or E connection
Now do you understand what I just said if not I will spell it out for you
The thermostat you are going to use to replace the Janitrol with the (HUNTER) might not be compatible. Now the reason for this is the Hunter is missing the E and C wiring terminal.
Now without the E terminal you can not use the strip heat in the electric furnace
If you will READ your manual you will see what I mean.
Here is your manual.
http://www.hunterfanhq.com/tools/sal...ners/42711.pdf
Now READ page 5
This thermostat is designed to work on the following heating and cooling systems:
Gas – Standing Pilot
Gas – Electronic Ignition
Gas – Fired Boilers
Gas – Milivolt Systems
Oil – Fired Boilers
Oil – Fired Furnace
Electric Furnace
Electric Air Conditioning
Single Stage Heat Pump - No auxiliary
Now it says single stage NO AUXILARY. Now that is the EMERGENCY HEAT CIRCUIT YOU NEED. The E circuit is MISSING just like I said in my first post back to you. The AUXILARY is the E circuit
I did read your question carefully and I did answer your question correctly.
YOU have a problem reading your manual. You had a problem reading my reply. You have a problem since YOU bought the incorrect thermostat.
Sorry but I hope this answers your question. Buy a compatible thermostat and get rid of the one you have since it will not work since it is missing the E terminal and you need the E terminal for the strip heat you have in your furnace. The C or common terminal would also be nice to have if you plan on using the furnace power supply (24 volts to power your thermostat) if not it will run on battery power all the time depending upon the NEW and Different thermostat you are going to have to buy to replace the one you have now that will not work.
The Hunter does not have a place to hook up the E or C terminal just in case you missed that in this post back to you.
