Kenmore Gas wall heater pilot lights, but won't ignite.
Hi there, I have a 1986 or 88 Kenmore gas wall heater Model # 829.756660 in the home that I am renting. I got the pilot light lit, and the thermostat makes the click noise when I turn it on, but the heater itself doesn't get any flame. Could this be my ignitor? if so can you tell me how to replace it? As my landlords are in Hawaii for a month and my house is 43* inside. I'm fine, but my daughters are getting a bit cold. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you so much~

If the pilot is lit and the furnace still will not work I suggest you call for service. As a tenant you have the right to have the heater fixed. You might call the landloard first to get the OK since they might have someone they use for service.

Now I am sure you have checked to be sure the electric switch for the furnace and the circuit breaker in the panel are turnaed on?

Thank you, and yes the switch in panel box is on. Do you think it might be the ignitor? I seem to remember having to replace one in another home I lived in. But I want to be pretty sure before I start that. Do you know where I might find a diagram of my heater? I have searched online, but must not have searched in the right place.
    Thanks again for your help

I do not believe that unit has a ignitor. You said the pilot was lit so no ignitor was used for that.

Thank you so much! I figured it out... my thermal coupler unit is shot... I'm headed to get one right now, and hopefully will be in business with in the hour.
Thank you for your help and info, once you said no ignitor... it dawned on me!
