My mother passed away 2 years ago. I have recently caught one of her so called friends using two of her credit cards for the passed two years. I have filed a police report and the card company has removed myself and my mothers name from any liability. I would like to still seek further action against her friend (with out a lawyer if possible). The reason is this friend has a claim against my mothers estate which is bogus.

Well, it depends on what KIND of claim you're going to make. If it's just a small claim, you can file it yourself by going to the courthouse, filling out a few documents, and paying about $50.
