    Amana A\C no power?
On Nov. 17th 2008 I had an a\c repairman to come to my home to check out why my thermostat (Honeywell) didn't have a read out on it also from the thermostat I could not turn on the A\c or heat, He replaced a 3 amp fuse on the circuit board and said that was the problem, he did also walk outside to inspect the unit. After replacing the 3 amp fuse he instructed me to turn on the furnace which I did and allowed it to run for about 5 minutes all seemes fine. On yesterday the 18th I set the unit for the a\c to turn on iwas only going to test it. When I got in from work about 1 a.m. this morning I went to check to see if the unit came on to my dismay the thermostat readout was gone again and just as before the thermostat would n ot allow the unit to operate. I have an Amana unit with the model # GUIC070M40 and serial # 0009243938 these numbers are per the a\c tech, I am unable to find this model number on the web period, I also would like to find out where the circuit board and transformer on this unit. The furnace and the evaporator are in the attic packaged together.

    Please help

    Thank you

The fuse is probably blown again.

You probably have a short in the low voltage thermostat wiring causing the fuse to blow.

NOTE: These manuals are for many different units combined into one by Amana. You might also check your model number again since it seems to be one letter off.

If the fuse is blown again I believe I would start with the low voltage wiring short problem. The wires might have rubbed through somewhere and are causing a intermittent short problem allowing the furnace to run until the wires short again blowing the fuse. This type of problem can be hard to find.
