I have an Amana heat pump.The heat is barely working and the outside unit has frost rings around it.Help it's cold!

Need more information. If you read some of the other posts you'll see others provide much more information.

What model is this and SEER/HSPF numbers? What part of the country are you in? What do you mean by frost rings; do you mean the outdoor unit is froze up? Was it working in the milder temps? How did it work during the summer cooling season?

Is your auxilliary/backup heat coming on?
