We have a well system and have always had powerful smooth water pressure for the past 7 years but within the last 2 months we noticed the water constantly, and very rythmically pulses not matter where at in the home the water is turned on and it is every time the water is turned on that is pulses. We noticed the ground was wet around an outdoor water hydrant so we dug that up and fixed it but that obviously had nothing to do with the problem as it is still pulsing. We live in a single wide trailer on a well system if that helps with anything. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions and I'll do my best. My husband is a trucker so seldom home so I'll do my best. I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Sound like you have a water logged pressure tank or a faulty pressure switch. Either of these can cause the pump to kick on and off constantly, making the water surge. It may also be a plugged pressure switch connect pipe.

On the top of the pressure tank, there should be a place that you can put a tire pressure gauge on. Start by turning power to the pump off, drain pressure off system, put tire gauge on schrader valve on top of pressure tank,( with all pressure drained off system) let us know what the reading is.

One more thing, before you do this, just push in the little point in the middle of the schrader valve and see if water comes out. If water comes out, your tank is shot( if it is a bladder type).
